What Do House Flies Look Like?

House flies are one of the most common and probably easily identifiable of the filth fly species. They are dull gray in color and have black vertical lines on the top of their body. Adults will also have two stripes on their faceā€”one silver and one gold in color. Adult house flies grow to about 1/8-1/4 of an inch in length. Their larvae are off-white in color and have a pointed head and no appendages; the pupa is dark brown, round in shape and tapers from front to back.
